Oscar Micheaux

 Oscar Micheaux is known as an author, and -black-filmmaker. He is not just any black filmmaker. He is the first black filmmaker to have his own movie in an white-only movie theatre! Wow, that must be amazing. I am going to tell you the story of Oscar Micheaux. It will be mainly about how Oscar became what he is known as today and his goal in life. 

First of all, his life started to shape when he began to write stories in an all--white area of the state South Dakota. That was when he began his own publishing company. After that he started to make his own film company. The motion picture industry was the key to making Oscar decide to be in the filmmaking business.  

Oscar had a very important goal in life. He wanted to make Hollywood equal. He did not just want Black films in all black theatres, and white films in all white theatres. He wanted a mix of both. Soon after Oscar joined the filmmaking industry, he was the first black producer to have his movie in an all white theatre. In some ways he did accomplish his goal. The method he used to make his dream happen was the autobiography elements he included in his movies. This method is basically a story plot. The plot has parts from the author or producer's life.

 Later on he died in North Carolina. He was an amazing filmmaker. Many people define him as an independent black filmmaker. Oscar had a couple good quote,these were (There is no barrier between success which diligence and perseverance can handle)-Oscar Micheaux, and (One of my greatest has been to teach the colored man he can be anything)-Oscar Micheaux. He is an unsung hero because of what he did to the filmmaking business. He helped make Black films and White films in the same theatre but does not get the recognition for what he deserves. 

Oscar accomplished so much. Now I realise not everyone needs to be known to be a hero. Before I thought people  had to be really famous to be a hero but they don’t have to be really famous to be considered one.

Should we have paper money?

 ¨ Where is my wallet?¨ Dang, it fell in the drain.  Now you can use money apps to store your money so you can’t lose it anymore. There are many pros about money apps that I am going to tell you about.

To start off, you can buy anything you want with these apps. For example, stores like Target and Walmart will accept paper money. When stores have you pay with paper money instead of on these apps, you have to spend time counting up your money. If you count how much money you have, and realize you don’t have enough money, you can not pay for the things you need. But, if you have apps for money you will have all your money in your phone. You can get anything at anytime.

Sometimes  people yell at you for being so slow in the checkout line. Now, with money apps,  you won’t be slow  wasting other people's time in line, because you do not have to count all your money.  That way when people are in line they won’t be yelling at you to be faster.  This could mean that if you are waiting in line at a place like Starbucks, it won’t take as long to pay and get what you ordered. 

Another pro of a money app is we would not be wasting trees. Money comes from paper as you know and paper comes from trees. So, if we don´t get rid of paper money we will always be cutting trees down. This would be bad for the environment.

Finally,  paper money is outdated. As years start to pass, we need to evolve. Paper money has been around for hundreds of years and if we don´t get rid of it, we don't evolve.

After thinking about getting rid of paper money, I  think it is a good idea. However, it would take many, many years.

Hockey Problems and Solutions

 

 Number 33 on a break away! Oh no, Chara got injured. There are a couple  of problems that

used to be around  in hockey but, There were also solutions to the problems. If you want to

learn I can tell you. 

  First of all, in the 1900ś checking was aloud in mites and older which I think is good to learn

so you don´t do the wrong thing. But the U.S decided no checking before you´r a bantam

since young children could get concussions or serious injuries.

In June of 2019 the Canadian sports organizations wanted to make it safe and healthy

by stopping the abuse.

Equipment is a main part of hockey and if you don't know   how to get the right

equipment it can be rough. Hockey stores can help you find the right equipment.

Hockey players need equipment or else you can get injured. Then companys like TSR,

CCM, or Bauer   decided to make hockey equipment.   That is why hockey equipment

is around in present day. 

Another problem is that some people get the wrong size skates. If you don’t get the

right sized skate your foot can start to hurt. If you get a pair of skates you will try

them on and see where your toe is.  It should feel not so tight that your foot hurts

but not that loose so it falls off. So you should get the right sized skate.

Finally people sometimes do not wear a mouthguard. A mouthguard is something you

put inside your mouth to guard your teeth. You can get mouth guards at places like

Bauer or CCM.  If you don’t wear a mouthguard you can get a jaw injury. That would

hurt badly. So If you do not want to get a jaw injury wear a mouthguard. 

I hope you learned a couple problems  in hockey. Hockey can be dangerous if you don´t

wear the right equipment. Next time you go to a one of those hockey stores to get

equipment ask for help if you don't know how to get the perfect size equipment.

It is all about Hockey!

Number 4 on a break away. He shoots. Goal! The horn go´s off. Hockey has been a sport for a long time. If you want to know a little more about hockey I can tell you.

        First of all you need the right equipment. For example knee pads, socks, to go over knee pads, pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads,  a jersey, a stick, skates, gloves, and a helmet. If you do not have the equipment you can not play. 

        The main idea of the game is trying to score the most points in the other teams net. There are a couple positions you can play like right wing, center, left wing, left defence, right defence and the goalie. There a couple penalties like hooking, tripping, checking, roughing, and cross checking. When you have a penalty only 4 people are allowed on the ice on your team.

        Some fun facts is that the NHL was formed in 1910, The first indoor hockey game was in 1875, The first Stanley cup was given in the 1892-1893 season, and sticks were not formed until the early 1900s.
